    Readington Free Preschool Community Forum

    The Readington Township Preschool Expansion Program has been approved. The district administration and private providers plan on hosting a community forum for members of our community to learn more about the Preschool Education Aid (PEA) and Readington's plans. The forum will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the Board Office Conference room at 52 Readington Road (Holland Brook School). Please join us.     Readington Free Preschool Survey

    The Readington Township School District received funding through the NJ State Department of Education to fully fund preschool for all eligible 3- and 4- years old. In an effort to gather interest from parents regarding our preschool program, we have developed a survey. This survey is designed for all Readington families who want to be considered for our program. Fill out this survey if 1) you have a child currently enrolled in a preschool program or 2) you do not have a child enrolled in preschool but have interest in your child attending a preschool program starting January 2. The focus of our friendliness character trait will center on the affirmation: We support and respect each other, especially when our friends are in need.  This month, we will be emphasizing friendly behaviors as we engage in NJ Week of Respect I and School Violence Awareness Week.  Please continue to discuss acts of good character with your child as he/she earns your permission to shade in pieces from his/her bucket filler puzzle.  Please click here to download the Friendliness bucket.

    The Readington Middle School Barnes & Noble Book Fair is returning on Wednesday, November 29th, from 5:00-7:30 to the Somerville Circle Barnes & Noble store.  This year's event is Percy Jackson-themed and will feature student performances, in-store challenges and activities, and a student/teacher competition, as well as the opportunity to get some holiday shopping out of the way!

    Schedule your Fall Conference Online…WHS Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on November 6, 7 & 8.  Evening conference times will be available on Monday, November 6.  Please use the Genesis Parent Portal to schedule your conference.  The window for scheduling your conference will open on October 16 after 8:00am, and close on October 27 at 8:00am.  Please follow the instructions below to sign up for an available time slot:

    3. Change the “Week of” to the week in November that corresponds with conferences (using drop down arrow)
    4. Click on the date you prefer and the teacher’s times will appear.

    The Readington Township School District has not officially received final notice from the Department of Education (DOE) regarding the status of our preschool program.  Once the district receives further information from the DOE an announcement will be made through multiple communication avenues.  Future updates will be made to the district website, Genesis, newspapers, flyers, and social media once the DOE publicly releases the information.  Thank you for your patience!

    Block Party Thank You

    The WHS Carnival Block Party was AMAZING!! Sorella's Pizza, Popcorn Nation Popcorn, Pony Rides, Petting Zoo, Face Painting and Carnival Games! Over 450 people attended and had a BLAST. Thank you to our fantastic chairs, Kriz Ignoscia and Reem Hemantharaju-Carre and to all of our parents who volunteered to help.

    Week of Respect – October 2-6

    WHS will again participate in New Jersey’s annual Week of Respect.  We are planning the following activities:

     

    Monday, October 2nd - “Together We Stand” - Wear your RED SHIRT to show respect for Rules, Everyone, Ourselves, Property, Environment, Community, + Teamwork!

     

    Tuesday, October 3rd - “Respect begins with us” - writing/coloring worksheet 

     

    Wednesday, October 4th - “ I pledge to be a friend” - take the Friendship Pledge and be a ‘“WHS Bucket-Filler”

     

    Thursday, October 5th - “Stomp out Bullying” - wear BLUE in support of World Day of Bullying Prevention 

     

    Friday, October 6th"Team Up Against Bullying" - Wear your favorite HS/college/professional sports team to show we stand against bullying as a team! 

     

    YMCA Clubs

    Our district is pleased to inform you that we will once again be offering after-school academic YMCA clubs at no cost to families.  The clubs are scheduled to begin on Monday, October 16 and will run for 6 weeks.  Specific dates are forthcoming. Please look for a special announcement and flyer coming from the district no later than Friday, October 6 to sign up directly with the YMCA.  The clubs are as follows:

     

    Dream through STEAM, grades 1-2, Wednesdays at WHS and Tuesdays at TBS

    Bookworks, grades 1-3, Tuesdays at WHS and Mondays at TBS

    STEAM Survivor, grades 2-3, Thursdays at WHS and Wednesdays at TBS

    Minecraft STEAM Club, grades 4-5, Mondays at HBS

    The Write Stuff, grade 4, Thursdays at HBS

    Governor’s Educator of the Year Program

    Readington Township School District participates in the New Jersey Department of Education Governor’s Educator of the Year Program each year. This program recognizes excellence in education, a direct result of the hard work of our outstanding classroom teachers and educational services professionals. One of the most meaningful gestures to show appreciation to our educators would be to nominate them for this year’s award. To make a nomination, please complete the nomination form and return it to your building principal by November 1, 2023.
