Welcome to our class! I could not be more excited to meet you all, and begin this amazing
Third Grade journey together. I hope you and your families enjoyed your summer! I had a blast with
my family and friends, and of course, my three dogs. I can’t wait to hear all about what exciting
summer memories each of you made!

Third grade is all about growing, learning, and having fun together! This year, you’ll discover
so much about the world around us and how we’re all connected. Your reading skills will take off as
your fluency and comprehension grow with you. You’ll explore different types of writing, both fiction
and nonfiction, while practicing your cursive handwriting. We’ll dive into grammar, punctuation, and
spelling, and you’ll get creative as you learn how to publish your own writing. In math, we’ll become
experts in multiplication and division, building confidence in solving multi-step problems, just like
mathematicians have done for years. In science, we’ll explore the structures of life, motion and matter,
and weather and climate through exciting experiments where we’ll test our theories and hypotheses.
Along the way, we’ll build strong relationships with our classmates, encouraging each other to always
strive for our best, because that’s what we’re all about in our class!

This year is going to be so awesome for both you and me! We will learn, treat each other with
respect, and support our class family through each day. I am looking forward to our first day of school,
and to making the most of every day!
