• Holland Brook School 2007-2008 School Goals
     

    Upon completion of the 2006-2007 QAAR goals review, conducted by the Holland Brook School Team Leaders, three goals were identified as focal points for the 2007-2008 school year.  Prior to crafting new building goals, the team reviewed the results of the 2006-2007 school goals.  Team Leaders reaffirmed their commitment to identify only those goals that strengthen the core instructional program.  The following goals are respectfully submitted in response to the high expectations for success held by the school community.

     

    Goal #1:  4th Grade Science

    nDuring the 2007-2008 school year, increase the number of 4th grade students scoring in the advanced proficient range to a level equal to or higher than the DFG I score (Focus cluster areas include life science, physical science, earth science, and application).
     
    Goal #2:  4th and 5th Grade Language Arts - Writing
    nDuring the 2007-2008 school year, increase the number of students earning a score of a 4 or 5 (NJ Registered Holistic Scoring Rubric) on an end of year writing assessment by 20%.  Fall writing prompt will be used to identify the percentage of students earning a 4 or 5 and focus areas will include content & organization, usage, sentence construction, and mechanics.
     
    Goal #3:  5th Grade Mathematics
    nDuring the 2007-2008 school year, increase the number of 5th grade students scoring at the advanced proficient level on the NJASK to a level equal to or higher than the DFG I factor group in the following areas:  patterns and algebra, data analysis, probability and discrete math, and problem solving.
