May 30th – Field DayDear Three Bridges Elementary School Families,
This email is to notify you that Three Bridges Elementary School held a security drill today, 4/30/2025. This was just a drill and there was no danger or emergency. Your child’s safety and well-being are a top priority at all times.
School safety drills are mandated by the NJ Department of Education Office of School Preparedness and Emergency Planning. Our security drills are conducted with proper protocols and procures and with prior consultation and with local, county, and state emergency personnel. State law, P.L. 2021, c.365, requires school districts to notify students, staff, and parents when a school security drill is conducted during the school day. Additionally, students and staff are notified at the conclusion of the drill that it was just a drill and that no danger exists.
We want to thank the students and staff for conducting this drill. At the conclusion of the drill, the students and staff were complimented for doing their part by being attentive and appropriately participating in this exercise.
Sincerely,
Dr. Kristen Higgins

NEW! Please Wear Outer Layers During Spring:
Dear Parents/Guardians,
As a reminder, we go outside for recess whenever the temperature, including the wind chill factor, is 32°F or above. Since recess occurs earlier in the day, temperatures are often cooler than the predicted daily high.
Yesterday, we had to bring students inside because many were dressed in shorts and did not have jackets. While the temperature was 44°F, the "feels like" temperature was only 37°F, making it too cold for students without proper clothing.
Outdoor Recess Policy -
In New Jersey, public schools are required to provide a daily recess period, which must be held outdoors whenever feasible. Going forward, if the temperature meets our outdoor recess guidelines, students will remain outside for the full duration of recess.
To ensure your child is comfortable and able to participate, please make sure they are dressed appropriately:-
Jackets & Layers: As mornings are often chilly, children should wear a jacket or coat. Hats and gloves are also encouraged as temperatures drop.
-
Pants & Appropriate Footwear: Shorts are not suitable for colder weather. Please ensure your child wears long pants and closed-toe shoes for warmth and safety.
-
Labeling Items: To prevent lost belongings, please label jackets, hats, and gloves with your child’s name.
We appreciate your support in helping us follow state guidelines while ensuring students can enjoy recess safely. Please check the morning temperature before sending your child to school to ensure they are dressed appropriately. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Nurse Armstrong.
