    Junior Librarian Virtual Book Drive - Help give the gift of reading this holiday season! The Junior Librarians are sponsoring a virtual book drive to benefit The Children's Home Society of New Jersey. Between now and December 18th, visit Mrs. Singer's Google Classroom, the LMC website or the LMC Instagram to learn how you can help.  We will also be collecting homemade bookmarks to accompany these brand-new books!  

    For Parents/Guardians of Students with IEPs - Progress Reports and IEP's for Special Education students are available on the Parent Portal in Genesis.  To view them, go to the bottom of the Parent Portal Summary Page and click on the "View Special Ed Documents" button.  Then click "OK" in the pop up box to access your student's documents.

    RMS Student Council Fundraiser - The RMS Student Council has just launched the fundraiser, RMS "Stronger Together" Campaign! Through the Bonfire website, the staff and community can purchase official RMS Viking face masks and “Stronger Together” apparel.  The “Stronger Together” apparel includes t-shirts, long sleeve shirts, crew neck sweatshirts, hoodies, and tank tops.  Both adult and youth sizes are available to purchase.  The profits made from the RMS "Stronger Together" Campaign will be donated to the New Jersey Association of Student Councils State Charity: Emmanuel Cancer Foundation, local food pantries in Hunterdon County, and America's Grow-A-Row.     Student Council Thanksgiving Food Drive (11/19-11/24)As a result of COVID-19, communities need support now more than ever!  This Thanksgiving, help support the Flemington Food Pantry by donating nonperishable food items.  The RMS Food Drive will run from Thursday, 11/19 until Tuesday, 11/24.  All donations are to be placed in the labeled bins located at the school entrances.  Go Vikings!  We are stronger together!

    Winter Sports Information - Governor Murphy has announced that winter sports will be permitted in New Jersey schools.  As our district reviews the guidance documents for winter sports, it is unclear if we will be able to offer a winter season.  However, in the event we are able to comply with the guidelines and requirements, we would like to be prepared.  If your child is interested in participating in a winter sport, please submit your child's sports forms no later than Monday, November 23.  Please click this link to find the necessary sports forms to be completed.  https://sites.google.com/readington.k12.nj.us/rms-health-office/athletics?authuser=0   Again, due to the ever-changing health situation, we may be unable to offer winter sports but would like the district and families to be prepared.

    RMS Picture Days - Picture Days will take place as follows:

    • Cohort A students - Tuesday, November 10 - during school hours
    • Cohort B students - Thursday, November 12 - during school hours
    • Fully Virtual Students - ONLY on Tuesday, November 10 from 12:30-2:45.  Please enter through the Old Gym Entrance in the front of the building.  Only students will be allowed to enter the gym - all parents are asked to wait in their cars.  Students will be temperature checked as they enter the building.

    Child Abuse Prevention Program UpdateBeginning this month, the RMS Counseling Department will be presenting the Child Abuse Prevention Progam to our students.  The Elementary CAP Program will be presented to our 6th grade students, and the Teen CAP Program will be presented to our 7th and 8th grade students.  Please know that both the Elementary CAP program and the Teen CAP Program are age appropriate for our students.  

    If you DO NOT want your student to participate in this program, please fill out the attached Opt Out Form and return it to Christine Crielly at ccrielly@readington.k12.nj.usPlease return your completed form no later than Monday, November 9.
