Attention 7th Grade Parents - Upcoming Field Trip - The 7th grade will be embarking on an exciting field trip to Top Golf on Friday, May 30th. We are thrilled to offer this opportunity for our 7th-grade class to experience the joy of golf in a dynamic and interactive setting. Please complete and return this Permission Slip
Attention 6th Grade Parents-Upcoming Field Trip - The 6th grade will be attending the Somerset Patriots Baseball game on Wednesday, May 15th. The teachers are excited to participate in this fun field trip with the 6th-grade class this year! Please complete this permission slip and return it to your student's homeroom teacher by Friday, March 8th. Permission slips also were given out in social studies classes. The cost is $25 for the trip and includes a ticket into the ballpark, transportation, and a meal choice of either pizza or hot dog. Finally, the RMS 6th grade chorus students will be singing the National Anthem for this game! Take me out to the ballpark!!
American Heart Association Jump Rope For Heart Fundraiser - February is American HEART month. We are proud to partner with the American Heart Association in fighting heart disease and stroke. During this program, your child will learn about their heart, ways to develop healthy habits and have the opportunity to participate in jump rope & hoops for heart challenge. The event was introduced in PE classes February 14th and 15th and students and families will have the opportunity to fundraise for the American Heart Challenge Event on March 7th and 8th in PE classes. Spring Sports Forms - The deadline for registering for Spring Sports 2024 is Friday, March 8, 2024. Please visit the nurse's page to access the forms required. Forms can be turned in to the Nurse's Office or emailed to sportsforms@readington.k12.nj.us. The first day for tryouts is Tuesday, March 19, 2024.
SHOE DRIVE - Girl Scout Troop 80151 is hosting a shoe drive for Soles4Souls. Collections will be from March 11th through March 22nd. The drop box will be outside of the main entrance of RMS. If your child will be attending a high school other than Hunterdon Central, please email Matilda Cangiano at mcangiano@readington.k12.nj.us and include a copy of your child’s acceptance letter. This information will allow RMS to forward student records to the correct high school. If you are required to submit your child’s course recommendation list to another high school, please email Brad Klippel, 8th-grade school counselor at bklippel@readington.k12.nj.us

Feel free to order one of his books from your bookseller or website of choice for your student to bring in and have personalized and autographed in a special meet-and-greet that day. Spring Book Fair - Scholastic book fair is quickly approaching. The fair will run March 18 - 21 during the school day. Setup will be Thursday at dismissal (3/14) and break down on 3/21, also at dismissal. We need volunteers to make the fair a success. Please reach out to book fair chairperson, Tanya Bowser (tanya.bowser@gmail.com) with availability and any questions. Please check out the scholastic site and consider setting up an EWallet for your student. If you already have funds in EWallet from a previous fair, please be sure to re-allocate them to the Spring book fair. We are running a promotion at the book fair! Any child that brings their own reusable bag will get $5 off the total of their purchase. This offer only applies for one transaction per student. A great way to help the environment as well as getting books into student's hands!As always, there is also an online fair which also benefits our school running from 3/15 - 3/28. The two snow contingency days and one virtual day have been used. Schools will now be open on March 18 and May 28. The closure of schools on February 13 and how the day will be made up on the school calendar will be communicated shortly.
Readington School District Bus Drivers Needed! - To qualify, you must obtain a Commercial Driver’s License with school bus and passenger endorsements with air brakes. If you have that, it's a plus; if not, we will train you. A clean driving record is required. Please contact Beverly Betsko, Dispatcher, at (908) 534-3835 if you are interested in applying.
Attention Special Education Parents - Progress Reports for the second marking period are available to be viewed in Genesis. To view your student's Progress Report, log into your account and follow these steps: Go to the bottom of the Parent Portal Summary Page, Click on the "View Special Ed Documents" button displayed toward the bottom of the page, and finally, Click "OK" in the pop-up box to access your child's documents.

Preschool Parent Virtual Workshop – Whitehouse Prep, one of our preschool providers, will be hosting a virtual workshop for parents on healthy eating habits on Saturday, February 10 at 12:00 Noon. Dr. Joel Fuhrman, a physician who lived in the Readington area, will be hosting the workshop. He is also the author of a book titled Disease-Proof Your Child, which features easy-to-prepare, kid-friendly recipes that will satisfy even the pickiest eaters.
