Attention 8th Grade Parents: 8th Grade Trip - On November 1, the 8th Grade class will have a field trip to Fairview Lake YMCA. Please print and complete these two attachments and return to your student's social studies teacher by Friday, October 6. Fairview Lake Permission Slip Minor Waiver
Attention 7th Grade Parents: 7th Grade Trip - On either October 18 or October 19, the 7th Grade class will attend the Walk in the Woods field trip. Please print and return the applicable permission by Monday, October 2.
HR 200, 201, 202, 203, 204, 206, or 312, they are going on 10/18 and should use this permission slip.
HR 210, 404, 407, 410, 411, or 417, they are going on 10/19 and should use this permission slip.Fall Sports Fundraiser - Penny Wars will be starting on Monday, October 2nd, and run through Friday, October 6th! Penny Wars is a fundraising event where teams compete for the most points. Students/families bring in pennies and/or bills to place in their team jar for positive points and silver coins and checks to decrease the amount of points in other jars. This will be happening during all lunches. Please see this flyer for more details.

Winter Sports Information - The deadline for registering for Winter Sports 2023 is Friday, November 10th, 2023! Winter Sports are basketball, cheerleading, and wrestling. Please visit the nurse's page to access the forms required. Forms can be turned into the Nurse's Office or emailed to sportsforms@readington.k12.nj.us. The first day for tryouts is Tuesday, November 28th, 2023.
Screenagers - Readington Township Schools, with the support of the Readington H.S.A., will be hosting a viewing of SCREENAGERS: Growing Up in the Digital Age on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. in the Readington Middle School Library. This film is geared for parents of students in grades 4-8. However, we invite all interested parents to join us. For more information, please click here. Governor’s Educator of the Year Program – Readington Township School District participates in the New Jersey Department of Education Governor’s Educator of the Year Program each year. This program recognizes excellence in education, a direct result of the hard work of our outstanding classroom teachers and educational services professionals. One of the most meaningful gestures to show appreciation to our educators would be to nominate them for this year’s award. New for 2023-2024 - PaySchools Central - Readington Schools has transitioned to PaySchools beginning with the 2023-2024 school year. Additional Food Service information can be found on the District website. PaySchools Central can be used to add funds to your child's cafeteria account, set up auto replenishments, create meal restrictions and track cafeteria purchases. Parents and Guardians must register at PaySchoolsCentral.com and add each student to the new account. The Student ID and Name entered must match the information contained in Genesis. Please refer to the PaySchools Quick Guide or the Full User Guide for instructions. Please click the "Forgot My Password" on the Genesis sign-in page if you're having trouble signing in.
If you already have a PaySchools account from another district (i.e. Hunterdon Central) you will need to register for a new account using a different email address for Readington.
Please note that pending State approval, the Application for Free and Reduced Price School Meals will be available in PaySchools. The Application is also available on the District website and hard copies are available at the Board of Education Office.

National Preparedness Month - September marks National Preparedness Month, the annual recognition to remind our New Jersey communities how important it is for individuals, families, and communities to prepare for disasters and emergencies that can happen at any time. The Office of School Preparedness and Emergency Planning (OSPEP) has partnered with Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region 2 to host a webinar on September 19, 2023, from 5 PM – 6 PM focused on basic preparedness steps, including building a kit, family communication, pet preparedness, financial preparedness and building community resilience. We'll include a nameplate on the inside cover of the book proclaiming "I was here first!" We will also include a star with their name in the LMC--a lasting and visible tribute! It's easy! Just visit the RMS Adopt-a-Book Wish List on Amazon to send a book directly to RMS. Contact Mrs. Singer or view the webpage for more information. PLEASE- include your child's name when the book is sent to Mrs. Singer, so that the book can honor the correct student.

Transportation Bus Changes – Please check your child’s bus information in Genesis, as changes may have been made to your child's bus number and bus pick-up/drop-off times.
Transportation Bus Delays on Thursday - School starts tomorrow, September 7th! Please expect school bus transportation delays on the first days of school. We understand parents want to take photos of children boarding the school bus on the first days and encourage you to do so. Please take your photos as quickly as possible to ensure the bus can keep on schedule. If there are any significant bus delays tomorrow, we will notify parents via Genesis. We appreciate your patience as you wait for your child’s bus to pick up and drop off your child tomorrow morning and afternoon. We wish all our students a wonderful first day of school tomorrow.
Fall Sports Information - Fall Sports Tryouts begin on Monday, September 11th right after school. Tryouts will last for 5 days and you need to attend every day. Do not forget your equipment and a water bottle! Best of luck to all athletes!

Chromebook Distribution Information - Students will be receiving their Chromebook, charger and case during the first full week of school. Students will be scheduled to pick up their equipment in the RMS Media Center by grade level. As a reminder, if a student retained their Chromebook over the summer they should return on the first day of school with their Chromebook and case.
