By a 1983 Presidential Proclamation, April was declared Child Abuse Prevention month.  Starting on Saturday, April 1, Alice Condo, Board President of the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Somerset, Hunterdon, and Warren Counties began walking from the Warren County Courthouse in Belvidere to the Hunterdon County Courthouse in Flemington, then on to the Somerset County Courthouse in Somerville to raise awareness about child abuse and neglect.

One of Condo’s stops along her way was at Holland Brook School on April 4.  She and Tracey Heisler, Executive Director of CASA of Somerset, Hunterdon, and Warren Counties, met with the school’s Student Leaders to talk to them about the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child abuse.

Students and staff at Holland Brook School were encouraged to wear blue clothing on the day of Condo’s visit as a sign to children in foster care that they are remembered.
