Readington's Finest, including Chief Sebastian Donaruma, and the WHS teachers pose during their Valentine's Day Dessert Party.  Lieutenant Joseph Greco, Patrolman Alex Wright and Corporal Steven Rindock enjoy goodies from the dessert table.

Readington’s Finest joined the Whitehouse staff on Valentine’s Day for a dessert party!  February is Caring Month at Whitehouse School, and the teachers cooked up something sweet for the local police force.  They baked and packaged cookies, compliments of the Whitehouse School Bakery!

School Principal Dr. Ann DeRosa said, “We wanted to find a special way to honor the police during our school’s month of caring.  Our police officers have unpredictable days and are ever so willing to put all others before themselves.  We support them, appreciate them, and care about them!  We wanted to take a moment to put them first, like they do for us every day.”  After the party, each officer received a container of cookies to take home.

At their recent school Town Hall Meeting, Whitehouse staff praised the students for their service efforts and let them know that the adults would be taking a turn at giving back to the community this month.  As an official 2017 New Jersey School of Character, currently under review for national recognition, Whitehouse School has been pairing their character trait of the month with a service project.  In September, the Character Education Committee decided to give back to the local Men in Blue ….to let the police know they need them… and care about them, too!
