    Today is Friday, September 22, and today is Day 2.

     

    Now, we ask you to please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance:

                 One nation, under God, indivisible,
                 with liberty and justice for all.

     

    • Quick reminder that school is closed on Monday, September 25 in observance of Yom Kippur.

     

    • As a reminder, breakfast is available for purchase every morning in the cafetorium.

     

    • All students will take the iReady Diagnostic tests on Tuesday, September 26 and Wednesday, September 27.  Please be sure your chromebooks are charged and you have a headset to use for the assessment.

     

    • Are you passionate about books or interested in helping out in the Library Media Center?  Consider joining Junior Librarians!  See Mrs. Singer's Google Classroom, the LMC website, or visit Mrs. Singer during Academic Support today to learn more.  Permission slips are due before our first meeting on Tuesday.

     

    • Do you like to sing? Join Readington Rhapsody! This pop choir meets after school on Tuesdays until 3:45. Pick up a permission slip outside the chorus room, or see Ms. Obenauer for more information.

     

    • Are you interested in helping to create the yearbook? If you enjoy photography, designing, and being creative, then join the RMS Yearbook Club! Permission slips can be found on the club website or outside room 204, and are due this Friday, September 22nd.

     

    • Lunchtime Book Club starts today for 6th and 7th grade during your lunch periods.  We meet in the LMC to talk about books, eat, and hang out.  Please let the teacher at the cafeteria podium know where you're going.

     

    • As we continue to focus on our SEL theme of Reflection for the month September, remember our affirmation for this week is:  I am responsible for my own success.

     

    • Yesterday the Lady Vikings won their first soccer match of the season with a 5-1 victory over Montgomery!  Shiloh North and AJ Mancusi led the way in scoring and newcomer Alex Burgey came through with some beautiful assists.  All in all it was a great team effort.  Let’s keep the momentum going today at Franklin.  Go Vikings!

     

    • Yesterday, both the Boys and Girls cross country teams opened their season at home vs Branchburg. The Boys team packed 9 runners in the top 12, winning by an impressive margin of 20-37. Key finishes were turned in by Nick Lutsky who was 5th, Oliver Galdo, 3rd, Greg DeMaria, 2nd, and Colin Hirshorn who finished 1st place! 

     

    • In the Girls race, it was very close early, but your Lady Vikings attacked the 2nd half of the course with a purpose, also defeating the Hawks, by a score of 24-34!  In her first ever cross country race, Rebekah DeVries found another gear in the final 50 meters, passing a Branchburg runner and finished in 4th overall. Paula Burke and Eyja Morgan Allen, crossed the line in 3rd and 2nd respectively, to pace your Vikings .Congratulations to all runners, it was a great opening race to start the season. 

     

    • Our Students of the Week for the week ending September 15 are:

                            Grade 7 - John Molochnick and Matthew Stillwagon

                            Grade 8 - Dean Verrengia and Rey Santos
